Forgiveness?

Yesterday I finally got back from my trip to New Jersey. Sadly we didn't visit New York or the Boardwalk this time, but it was still alot of fun, more than I expected, and I just didn't want to come back. I still remember when we went last year; I still have the link to the pictures on my Journal under $7µƒƒ 70 Ð0. I also remember posting an entry about it in my Journal, alot can happen in a year. I wonder what life will be like for me a year from now. It was fun to meet with family and friends, but it was also good to just get away from all the stress and other stuff going on in SA. My parents said that we may move down to New Jersey, because that's where most of our family is and that is where I will most likely be attending college, which would be awesome because I love it there so much. Even though there is alot of gangs and crime going on, the property taxes are expensive as hell, and gas prices are stupidly high, it is just a great place to be. This trip has taught me alot and has opened my eyes to alot of things going on. Now that I am back in San Antonio, I will no longer let those little things pile up anymore. I will no longer just let things go, I will be more assertive and aggressive when needed and I will no longer put up with people's shit. It's time for change
Anywayz, here is what we did each day:
Day One
My parents and I woke up about 5:45 am and I finished packing. My brother came at about 6:00 am so we loaded up all the luggage in the van. We arrived at the airport about two hours before our flight departed so that we would have enough time to get through security, which is always a major pain now days, get our Boarding Passes, and get something to eat. At 8:20 they finally started boarding so we got our seats and enjoyed the two hour and fifty-eight minute ride to Detroit where we had to get another plane to get to New Jersey. When we finally arrived at Detroit, we had a two hour layover before our next flight so we just searched for our gate and then got something to eat at a near Taco Bell in the terminal. It was freezing in Detroit and there was so much haze that you couldn't even see the sky. Before our flight came in the gate for our flight changed so we had to go searching again for the next gate. Finally it arrived and everyone boarded. But, then the pilot announced that there was some rough weather over the destination so we had to wait an hour for the ACC to tell the pilots if the storm had cleared or not. Then we had to wait ANOTHER HOUR because the storm hadn't cleared yet!
And to make matters worse, just guessed who I sat by. That's right, an OLD PERSON!!!
I had to deal with the stench for the whole trip! So finally...they got clearance to depart. About three hours later we arrived at Newark, New Jersey at about 6:00 pm where my mom's friend Carol picked us up. It was even colder in NJ, but the weather was perfect - much better than SA. She drove us down the New Jersey Turnpike and to her apartment where we would be staying for the next three days. Then, we went to my Aunt Dolores' house to visit and eat. My brother, cousin Jerry, and I went for a walk around the neighborhood just to get out of the house. Then we had a game of basketball, but the ball hit a nail and deflaited - how unlucky is that! Later on, we went to the beach where we found out some people were setting up for a wedding and reception. A wedding at a beach?? It was strange though because the DJ came over and set up a microphone in the sand and he said something that was really coincidental in this situation: "...everday in life is worth celebrating." Too bad I don't feel the same way. At 9:00 pm we left to go back to Carol's apartment, but my bro decided to sleep there. That night I was so tired that I wasn't even affected by Jet Lag.
Day 2
We woke up at 8:30 am and went over to my Aunt's house again to eat and visit. For some reason everyone started calling me "Antnie."
You all shall pay!!! By the way if anyone calls me that in San Antonio your dead! Later on around the evening, my brother, my cousin Carly, and I went for a walk to the beach which was about five minutes away. After dodging those crazy New Jersey drivers, we arrived at the beach which we found out was closed. So we just made sure no one was looking and we jumped the fence. The waves at the beach are insane! At Port Aransas the waves are calm and only get bigger the farther out you go. In New Jersey the water is freakin' cold because it's the Atlantic ocean and the waves are huge even at the shore! Plus the under-toe is a major problem. It was starting to get dark so we decided to leave. Just then, an officer partoling the beach drove up to us and told us to leave because they were closing the beach. Wasn't the beach already closed?! lol, so we just played along and acted like we didn't know. New Jersey is known for its Italian Ice so my cousin treated us to some. Then we decided to come back but everything looks different at night. Ya you guessed it...we got lost! So we decided to blame my brother and started walking around trying to remember were we came. We tried calling anyone we could at the party, but no one answered. after awhile, we saw someone outside who seemed nice enough to ask for help and wouldn't shoot us. We finally figured out where we were and continued on our quest, making sure to avoid The Projects [area where things can get dicey]. We finally found our way back and just continued to visit until my parents and I left.
Day 3
Again we woke up about 8:30 am and went over to visit and eat. My Aunt lives right next to a creek so when we got there, we went crabbing and fishing. Carly said that she had alot of tunes in her car so we just went in and listened to her CDs for awhile where I found out the names of alot of songs I have been looking for - which I will put in the mix player later on. It was complete chaos inside; everyone was taking pictures and if you were seen, they would force you to be in them. I just went in the kitchen to get some coffee and before I knew it I was in the battlefield! I made a break for it and just barely made it out alive. "That was a mistake!" Carly and I decided to stay out of there for awhile. Later on we heard some fireworks going on nearby. We decided to get closer about ten minutes later and realized that they were going off at the beach which was very close. Aparently they were celebrating the end of Summer, which is weird because Summer ends on the 21. It was awesome because they went on for about twenty minutes or more and had an amazing finally. I took a video of it with my digital camera so I will post it on here later on. Before we were able to get to the beach it ended and everyone that was outside started cheering. So we just went back and visited some more until we decided to leave. So we just said goodbye for the last time and went back to the apartment.
Day 4
My mom's friend's cats kept me up last night so I was very tired. I woke up about two hours before we were supposed to which was 6:30 am. But, I got to sleep on the plane so I was happy. We went back to my Aunt's house for the last time to pick up my brother. But, they wouldn't let us leave!
Finally we got out and headed to the airport. We arrived early so we went through security and waited forever for our flight. I realized that it was september 11th [year the Twin Towers got hit by the terrorist attacks if you don't know], but I really didn't care. Security was very tight, so a terrorist attack by plane is almost impossible. I really wanted to stay to see what was going on at New York, which wasn't far away at all, but we had to depart. Three hours later we were getting ready to land and I noticed that the plane was swirving more than normal. I thought that the pilot was drunk or something. Then we landed on the runway and we hit it hard! After that rough landing, we arrived in Indianapolis and had a fortyfive minute layover until our next flight back to San Antonio. We arrived in San Antonio at about 5:00 pm, but all the gates were taken so we had to wait another forty minutes! We were "the odd man out" as the pilot called it. Finally a gate opened and we docked. It was hard adjusting to the heat because New Jersey was so cold due to the Atlantic. Well, here we are back in San Antonio. Back to all the pain, back to all the stuff going on. Homework to catch up on, problems to fix, sleep to catch up on. What I would give to go back.
